Asia Base Law & Projects (Suzhou) Co. Ltd.
Recently our company Asia Base said goodbye to all “wires and IT hardware” in the office and migrated to the cloud. We ripped out all our servers, patch-board, backup system, UPSs, network hardware! We emptied our IT room - got rid of two tall towers of hardware and donated it all to charity.
It is 2020. We had to let go of the old-fashioned IT. But we didn’t stop there. As a matter of fact, we even said goodbye to “the physical office” as we know it.
Now entirely “unplugged” we have moved to a comfortable and attractive co-working space at WeWork in Suzhou. Here you find us in a cozy 12 people room – plus some of us spread all over the shared office platform where a large number of creative people work under the same roof and share public areas with working desks, sitting areas, meeting rooms, canteen, and enjoy freeflow coffee – and beer! And it doesn’t stop here. We have more then 10 freelancers and part timers working for Asia Base from their home bases all over the world.
To ensure an effective transition Asia Base kicked this internal office-concept-revolution off by inviting every employee on a company outing to a coworking space in Chiangmai, Thailand, for a couple of weeks. Here we familiarized ourselves with our new online tools and prepared ourselves for the new office and working style of the future.
We have become location flexible – if not independent! We can work from anywhere in the world and no one would be able to tell. We take advantage of both flexible working hours, freelancers, and the nicest coworking spaces in the world.
Even in our conservative industry (business strategy and legal services) trends are now that everything is communicated online on a 365/24 basis. Our operations are managed in a cloud-based project management software system and everything is just so much more convenient and easy. Clients can now live-chat with us online on our website – they don’t even have to send us an email (which by the way is already outdated in China). No matter the day, the time zone… You can try to look at www.asiabase.com and see for yourself how that works out for us.
